This painting depicts Balgabalga (Hammerhead shark) and Bula (Short sucker fish). Balgabalga is a significant totemic species for the Gupapuyngu people from Djiliwirri and is represented through songlines and storylines in which the Bula follows the Balgabalga like a shadow.
