Digital Archive Project

Bula’bula Arts Archive
(2024-26)

Throughout 2024 and 2025, Bula’bula Arts worked with Indigenous curator Coby Edgar, and conservator and archivist Rebecca Barnott-Clement to digitise the Bula’bula Arts archives. Over three visits to Ramingining, Coby and Bec preserved over 40 years of photographs, slides, videos, and documents, ensuring these important records of community and culture are safeguarded for future generations.

This project was recognized internationally, receiving the International Council of Archives “Collaborative Models of Care” award at the 2024 Digital Preservation Awards in Brussels. The project will conclude with an exhibition in Sydney in April 2026.

This work has been made possible through the generous support of Creative Australia, the Wales Family Foundation, Digital Preservation Coalition, Gordon Darling Foundation, Agency Projects, and the Australian Institute for the Conservation of Cultural Material.
