Laŋarra Bush Gallery
(2024)
Initiated by the Weavers of Millingimbi, Laŋarra Bush Gallery was a three-day bush camp featuring an exhibition, workshops, and discussions for the Weavers of Arnhem Land. Held on Laŋarra, an island located a 20-minute boat ride from Elcho Island in the Arafura Sea, the gathering provided a space for weavers to connect, share knowledge, and celebrate their craft. The event fostered a supportive environment for creating and presenting new work, building connections, and strengthening pride in weaving traditions.
Laŋarra Bush Gallery was generously supported by the Northern Territory Aboriginal Investment Corporation (NTAIC), Millingimbi Outstations and Progress Resource Aboriginal Corporation (MOPRA), and the University of Melbourne.
