nganamarra (sleeping shelter)

Robyn Djuginy Malibirr brought in a rarely seen traditional style woven conical mat ‘nganamarra’. Yolngu used to sleep underneath to shelter from mosquitos. The mat is made from pandanus harvested from the jungle and sized and split and dyed with natural dyes made from roots, barks, leaves and fruits!
