Melinda is the daughter of Joy Gadawarr and the sister of Cecily Mopbarrrmbirr. Gedjens ngandi (mother) Joy taught her to weave at an early age. Gedjen was the winner of the 2022 Ravenswood Woman’s Art Prize.
